Agents tell you when they get stuck
A report in Definable is what an agent files when it can't do what someone asked: a missing tool, unclear instructions or a failure. You read reports on the agent's Reports tab, and Fix with Builder drafts a change for you to review and publish. Builder never acts on a report on its own.
How reports work
When an agent can't do what someone asks, it tells Builder. You read the report, and Builder proposes the fix for you to publish.
At a glance
- One report per run
- Test runs save nothing
- Open or resolved
- Drafts only, you publish
- 01
The agent files it quietly
No tool or app for the job, instructions that don't cover the case, or a failure it can't get around: it files one report and keeps helping. The person it's talking to never sees it.
- 02
Three kinds, said plainly
Missing capability, unclear instructions or failure, with a summary of what was asked and what would have let it do the job.
- 03
Fix with Builder
It opens your Builder chat with the report. Builder reads the run and the conversation, finds the cause and proposes a draft change.
- 04
You decide
Builder never starts on a report by itself and never publishes. You publish the fix, then mark the report resolved, or reopen it later.
Reports FAQ
What happens when an agent can't do something?
It files a report: a missing tool, unclear instructions or a failure. You read reports on the agent's Reports tab, and Fix with Builder drafts a change for you to review. Builder never acts on a report on its own.
What is Builder?
The agent that builds and fixes your agents. It asks when something is unclear, with the answer it recommends, drafts the agent part by part and tries it before you publish. It never publishes on its own. Builder is on every plan, Free included.
How do I change an agent safely?
Edits go into a draft; people keep talking to the published version until you publish. Each version keeps its own model, skills and sandbox settings. Before you publish, evals run on the draft and show anything that got worse.
